Im going to drive a rental car from Madrid to Pamplona, I need some advice!?

Hi. Im going to Pamplona for the Bull run over the weekend 10th - 13th of July, from Madrid to Pamplona and back again. Does anybody have any good travel advice? How long should it take? What road should I take? How busy will the roads into Pamplona be?......I have a hostel %26amp; parking booked, so thats one thing down!....Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated. ..Im going to drive a rental car from Madrid to Pamplona, I need some advice!?
Around 5 hours, going back will be easier. - but because it's San Ferms, think 6h30, because of traffic a little. But more cars on the road, you won't be able to do the 120km/h speed limit, 100km/h at most for most of it

Do you have a tom tom ? You'll need one, although it is ALL fast roads, and you'll be on the A-1 for most of it, you'll need to go on the E-5 near Burgos - some of it is toll roads, - (Autovia del Norte) I think it cost between 10鈧?%26amp; 15鈧? because your on it for so long

but if you leave Madrid follow signs for Zaragoza (most of it is the A-2) then once you get to Aragon folllow signs for Navarra/Pamplona there are less toll booths on this road, and in general less speed cameras, although it could add as much as an extra hour to your jounrey. (Autovia del Nordeste) - I've done this jounrey to get to Portaventua, don't go into Zaragoza though, the country lanes will be faster than the AP-68 to get out of this city depending on the times. - it coat us 5鈧?in toll's going this way (2,50鈧?each way)

I've got a parking ticket in Pamplona before -_- and I live just outside the city ! bl盲 their terrible people - make sure if it's a car park you pay the full amount, if it's a street check the signs.

You might want to leave a day before, or in the night ? take a look on something like Google Earth, there are many routes you can take - you might want to eat lunch in Burgos on the way ? or stay in a motel, or do the journey in one go.

From Pamplona, to get back to Madrid is EASY leave through the N-111 and there sign posts to many of the major cities - do take an extra day to look around Navarra, maybe cross into the French border ? or visit Donostia if it's Sunny, anywhere more than an hour away from Pamplona, their hotel's won't be fully booked and their rates will be reasonable. - the roads into Pamplona will be very busy, maybe if you have a Tom tom, tell it to avoide all Toll roads - it will say it take's longer, but because of the cars it won't. The city usually doubles in size for San Ferms, so you can imagine the traffic not only comming in, But many people who live here leave for a G卯te in France for the week. -you've seen San Ferms once you've seen them all =]Im going to drive a rental car from Madrid to Pamplona, I need some advice!?
