If you are retired or wealthy and do not work for a living then go to the court and fight the ticket. Even if you have to end up paying make sure you waste their time and frustrate the city that issued it to you to the max.

You will one way or another. The agency issuing the ticket will go back to the owner of the vehicle (rental agency) if the ticket is not paid. The rental agency will see who rented the car on that day. They will either charge your credit card for the ticket, or bug you until you write a check for it.
Grow up and pay your tickets.
Of course...if you parked it!!
