I was trying to plan a cross-country trip one-way and fly back home when done. Was looking for a fuel efficient vehicle for the trip. Since most of the trip will be highway I would like to avoid a HybridDo any of the major rental-car companies offer a Jetta TDI?

It's like a broker site. They search hundreds of suppliers in thousands of locations and provide you with a list of the cheapest rates available for your dates.
If they don't have a Jetta TDI available, I'm sure they will provide you with something very similar.Do any of the major rental-car companies offer a Jetta TDI?
i doubt it. but there are companies that rent the JETTA or used to. i think enterprise used to have it and also budget.
hertz has volvos. if you want to drive in style.
