Rental Car+Hostels or Sleepervan in New Zealand South Island (7 days)?

I will be traveling to New Zealand and planning on driving around the entire border of the South Island. Would renting a car and staying in hostels or renting a sleeper van be a better option (for roughly 6 or 7 days). Thanks!Rental Car+Hostels or Sleepervan in New Zealand South Island (7 days)?

That depends when you are going but if it is summer you could still get rain and there is nothing more miserable than being in a campervan in cold or wet weather. Go the rental car and hostels Your 7 days will be a quick trip try to get tp Kaiteriteri beach Able tasman national park near Nelson . so lovely around there.
