Hi, we reserved a rental car from Enterprise from Dec. 21 to Dec. 25...obviously the store will be closed on Christmas day so we were told to lock the car and place the keys in the drop box by the door. Okay, but our return time is at 12:00 noon...since no one will be there to witness us return it at that time, could we return it later without those hourly penelty charges?Renturing a rental car on Christmas?

Unless they have a security camera you should be fine. Who is going to know? Check to see if they have a camera and if not then all is well.
They'll either have security cameras, a night watchman, or someone checking the lot every few hours. They will know the exact minute you return the car. Don't even try it!
You won't get charged. I had to return a car after hours because of the holiday last year and I returned it like 5 hours later. They don't know. Just make sure you drop that key in the box or you will be charged
