You can also go with the Linx bus, or other transportation like this, but I believe you have to get to one of their stops (I've never road on one).
Of course, you could always just reserve a shuttle from Universal. If you call Universal you can reserve this shuttle and it will provide the transportation to and from (I'm not sure about costs)

Your hotel probably has a shuttle or can make arrangements for you. That will be the easiest and most simplest way.
The best bet is to arrange for a MEARS shuttle to pick you up. IF you reserve in advance (usually 2 days) they will pick you up at your Disney Area hotel, bring you to Universal and then pick you back up and the end of the day. It is a littl ebit expensive, because you pay per person for the service, instead of a rental car where it is one price for the whole thing. But if you don't want to drive in Orlando traffic, it's not a really bad idea. It's about $15 per person... See below or their web site...
