My mom is gonna rent a car from alamo. she is 40 years old and has a German driver's license. And since she is not really comfortable driving in the U.S. I just wondered if it would be possible for me to be a secondary driver for an additional charge. I have a U.S. driver's license from the state of Iowa. Can a 17 year old guy drive a rental car from alamo as a secondary driver?
Here are some things you can do ahead of time:
Go to the Alamo web site and read the fine print.
Call Alamo and ask your question that way.
The third option is to ask when you and your mom arrive at the rental counter.
However, if this is important to you and your mom, then I'd opt for one of my first 2 suggestions. I tried their website (www.alamo.com) and it was apparently down at that moment. If you prefer to call them, better have your mom do it as she is the primary driver and is renting the car. The number should be on her reservation. Can a 17 year old guy drive a rental car from alamo as a secondary driver?
You really need to ask the agency many of them have there own internal rules.
