Age to drive a rental car?

I know you have to 25 in most states and with most companies to rent a car. But if i rented a car under my name (i'm 45) could i put my son as a additional driver? Its just going to be him and i and i don't want to drive the whole way by myself. He has a valid Drivers License.Age to drive a rental car?
Even as an additional driver, your son has to meet the age requirements of the rental company, and most companies are 25 and up. Some companies will let 21-24 year olds drive, but they will charge underage fees, even if they are listed as additional drivers.Age to drive a rental car?
I believe you still have to be the minimum age that your sates law requires. For example: If you're driving a rental car in Kentucky, you must be at least 21, and on the document of lease.
It's not just the law, it's the car rental companies contract. You have to be at-least 21 to rent a car but they will charge you a high daily fee if your under 25. No one under 21 can rent or drive the car.
