When renting a rental car? liability?

I am planning a trip to Las Vegas with a friend. If I put the car in my name and something happens while he's driving as an authorized driver, who will be responsible for damages? When renting a rental car? liability?
purchase the additional insurance offered. some insurance companies will tell you your covered by your own or his own insurance while driving. read the fine print of your contract, if the car is damaged and out of service you could be liable for loss of rental revenue. When renting a rental car? liability?
I agree, purchase the extra coverage. It's a small price to pay for making sure that neither one of you will be held personally responsible for the accident. Be aware, however, that except for the damages to the rental car, the state of Nevada only requires $15k in liabilty limits per person and $30kper accident. That means that you or the driver at the time of the accident would have to use your own insurance for anything over the limits noted above.

Insurance follows the vehicle, and then the driver, in NV
As the renter, you are responsible for any damages to the vehicle, in the view of the car rental company. It would be up to you to pay the car rental company for damages or use your own insurance coverage if applicable. It would then be your responsibility to be seek compensation by your friend via their own insurance.
Your insurance will cover the loss except for the $500 deductible.

You can get insurance thru the rental agency that covers everything including the deductible but it costs $20 a day..
the rental place holds the ins.and responsibility
he will cause he's authorized
