Go to the car hire desk and pay up. Don't forget to pay FULL accident damage cover. The big car hire companies are going over cars with magnifying glasses. I was actually charged for road dirt, until I spat on it and wiped it off!
Avoid all cowboy operators unless you speak perfect Spanish. Their insurance is often nonexistent.
