Any MAJOR Rental car companies that accept PREPAID MASTERCARD/VISA Debit cards?

I need to rent an automobile for a trip and I only have a prepaid debit MASTERCARD. I have been approved for a REAL credit card but it won't arrive until after I need to rent the vehicle.. I am looking for any MAJOR car rental agencies that accept PREPAID MASTERCARD or VISA debit cards for the rental..

Thanks a million!!!Any MAJOR Rental car companies that accept PREPAID MASTERCARD/VISA Debit cards?
It actually varies from location to location. If you know where you're going to pick up your car from, you should call the local office of the car companies to make sure they'll accept prepaid debit cards.

Also call up your debit card companies. Some cards don't allow car rentals. Some that say they do allow you to rent cars have special requirements.Any MAJOR Rental car companies that accept PREPAID MASTERCARD/VISA Debit cards?
Enterprise doesn't always accept prepaid card - it varies by location. I'm having the same issue right now and was shot down by Enterprise.

enterprise car rental accepts debit cards
I only have a VISA debit card and I used it to rent a car from Thrifty Car rental at DTW airport. No problem even though they did say in their ad they would not accept debit cards........ It just ran right through. I have done it 3 times so far.
enterprise
This is a dicey issue, and I think you'll have a hard time trying to use it. I know that my company accepts check/debit cards but not prepaid cards, simply because they aren't attached to an account and if something happens there isn't a way to draw more money off of the account or really to track the cardholder down. The thing is that many rental agents might not notice; for instance, we just got new software that detects when a credit, debit, or prepaid card is swiped--it won't let us proceed with a prepaid card. I'm sure that not everywhere has them and it's more than likely that most rental agents won't notice or care, but I'd be willing to bet that in principle at least, you aren't going to find a major rental agency that will rent on a prepaid debit card. Sorry. One option for you, though, is to attempt a cash qualification. In most places, Thrifty, Enterprise, and Budget (sometimes Avis) will let you bring in a cash deposit. It requires some legwork since they have to verify a whole bunch of information about you and they'll collect an amount that can be significantly over the estimated total cost of the rental ... but it's worth a shot. Good luck!
You have to make sure that the credit on the account is enough for the security charge. Once they charge your card for security, those funds will be tied up and you will have a large dent on your credit.

Bit of pain, but i think it should be okay. Also, at many restaurants, you may need an extra 15% of your bill on the card so that there is money for a tip. If there is not an extra 15%, then the card will be declined.
